Kachak Tetiana – Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Elementary Education and Educational Innovations of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, winner in the nomination Young Scientist of the Year (2012), laureate of the Myroslav Stelmakhovich Pedagogical Award (2022).
Tetiana Kachak is conducting a research project entitled “Literature for Children and Young Adults and IT Technologies in Contemporary Language and Literature Education” (state registration number of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine 0123U103692), scheduled for 2023–2028. The study aims to conceptualize current trends in the development of children’s and young adult literature in the context of the digital transformation of education and the implementation of innovative educational practices.
Within the framework of the project, current issues of contemporary Ukrainian prose and poetry for children and young adults, the history and theory of children’s literature, the formation of the school literary canon, as well as the application of interdisciplinary methods and critical practices in the study of texts for young readers are explored. Particular attention is paid to literary education, the development of children’s reading, the use of digital tools in language and literature education, the role of artificial intelligence in the educational process and academic research, and methods of teaching literature in general secondary and higher education institutions.
The object of Tetiana Kachak’s scholarly interests includes the theory, history, and criticism of Ukrainian and world literature for children and young adults, comparative studies of national literatures, issues of literary education of school pupils and university students, as well as the integration of IT technologies into language and literature education. The results of the research aim to contribute to the renewal of the educational environment and the development of reading culture.
Member of the International Research Society For Children’s Literature (IRSCL), Head of the Ivano-Frankivsk branch of the Ukrainian Research Center of Children and Youth Literature. Member of EBCRG – an international research group focusing on the study of censorship in the Eastern Bloc at the University of Łódź. Member of the Scientific Council of the Centre for Research on Children’s and Young Adult Literature based at the University of Wrocław.
Editor-in-chief of the scientific journal “Children’s literature: interdisciplinary discourse” (https://journals.pnu.edu.ua/index.php/clid/about). Member of the editorial board, editor and compiler of individual issues of the scientific journal “Literature. Children. Time”.
She is the author of the monographs “Trends in the development of Ukrainian prose for children and adolescents of the beginning of the XXI century”, “Artistic features of Ukrainian women’s prose of the 80-90s of the XX century”, textbooks “Ukrainian Literature for Children and Youth” (2016, 2018, 2025), “Children’s Literature and the Methodology of Teaching Literary Reading” (2025), “Foreign Literature for Children”(2014, co-authored), “Academic rhetoric” (2024), “Digital Tools of Literary Education in Primary School” (2024), “Literary Education of primary school students” (2024), “Ukrainian Literature. Textbook for the 5th grade of NUSH” (2024, co-authored O. Tebeshevska) and educational and methodological manuals for students and publications of a literary, scientific-methodical and literary-critical nature.
Her work includes lectures and teaching support for the courses “Children’s Literature and Methods of Teaching Literary Reading”, “Literary Education of primary school students”, “Digital Tools of Literary Education in Primary School”, “Academic Rhetoric”, “Foreign Children’s Literature”; webinars and advanced training courses for teachers, lecturers of general, vocational and higher education institutions.
