Faculty of Pedagogy educators studied maker culture and 3D technologies at the Center within the framework of the REFINE project

On October 26, faculty members of the Department of Pedagogy participated in the final training session titled “Maker Culture and Invention Pedagogy in Higher Education.” The event took place at the “CNU Ecosystem” Center for Innovative Educational Technologies as part of the international project “REFINE: Rebuilding futures: Empowering educators and students through cross-border collaboration and invention pedagogy.”

Expert training and academic support were provided by the Center’s Director, Professor Olena Budnyk, and Associate Professor Mykhailo Kotyk, who also serves as the Center’s Software Engineer. The intensive training program seamlessly integrated theoretical insights with an extensive practical block aimed at incorporating cutting-edge technologies into the educational process. Utilizing leading international methodologies, the participants collaborated in a team workshop format. Thanks to the professional guidance and technical support of Associate Professor Mykhailo Kotyk, each team successfully brought their engineering concepts to life – spanning from initial sketching with 3D pens to final modeling and printing finished products on 3D printers.

The participants also tested modern gamified learning formats, including the “Quest Maker” game (moderated by Prof. Olena Budnyk), the “Educational Quest” (moderated by Prof. Liudmyla Matsuk), and the “Digital Detox Game” (moderated by Associate Professors Marianna Matishak and Iryna Skomorovska).

Upon successful completion of the training, all faculty members will receive professional development certificates. The acquired experience and tools of invention pedagogy will be actively integrated into educational programs to train future primary education specialists.
