Kateryna Fomin, a representative of the “CNU EcoSystem” Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, took part in the EdYouFest Malta 2026 International Conference. Organised in partnership with the ELT Council Malta, the event brought together more than 150 educators and English language teaching professionals from around the world.
The two-day conference featured plenary sessions, practical workshops, and opportunities for professional exchange. Its programme focused on key developments and challenges in contemporary education, including soft skills development in the age of artificial intelligence, inclusivity, digitalisation, innovative approaches to language learning, and the need to balance technological opportunities with the human potential of teachers and learners. Particular attention was paid to artificial intelligence as a new tool in educational practice, ranging from creating interactive learning content to rethinking the role of the teacher amid the rapid development of AI technologies. It was precisely the integration of contemporary pedagogical approaches with practical digital solutions that shaped the innovative character of EdYouFest Malta 2026.
An important part of the programme was an educational visit to AM Language School, one of Malta’s language schools. Participants had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the organisation of language learning, the educational environment, and the teaching practices of an international language school. Such professional contacts create new opportunities for students of Carpathian National University, including the development of international educational partnerships, language and academic exchanges, participation in international educational programmes, language courses and projects, and opportunities to gain learning experience in an authentic English-speaking environment.
For Kateryna Fomin, participation in EdYouFest Malta 2026 and the educational visit to AM Language School provided an opportunity not only to engage in international professional dialogue, but also to expand international contacts and explore new opportunities for educational cooperation that can benefit the university community. The ideas, practices, and professional connections gained during the conference and educational visit constitute a valuable resource for the further development of educational initiatives at the “CNU EcoSystem” Center for Innovative Educational Technologies and for strengthening the international dimension of the University’s educational activities.
