Director of the Center Olena Budnyk visited the University of South-Eastern Norway as part of the REFINE project

During May 17-21, a team from the Faculty of Pedagogy (Prof. Olena Budnyk, Assoc. Prof. Marianna Matishak, Prof. Liudmyla Matsuk, Assoc. Prof. Iryna Skomorovska) conducted an educational visit to the University of South-Eastern Norway (Notodden, Kingdom of Norway) within the framework of the project Rebuilding futures: Empowering educators and students through cross-border collaboration and invention pedagogy (REFINE) under the EDUC-WIDE SEED PROJECTS – 2024 program.

The visit program included an exchange of experience and participation in training sessions aimed at improving skills in making and invention pedagogy. Colleagues from the University of South-Eastern Norway, Camilla Groth and Larysa Dahl Kolesnyk, emphasized the values of sustainable development in invention, and disclosed the methodological aspects of implementing invention and making, as well as their impact on developing the resilience and agency of participants in the educational process. During practical activities, the team developed their own ideas for improving the educational process, created, and presented maker projects, including original didactic games aimed at developing the inventive thinking of pupils, students, and educators. The university faculty members attended a cultural and educational event themed Invention Pedagogy, Intercultural Learning, and Voices of Ukraine to present the interim results of the REFINE project and the podcast Voices of Resilience and Recovery, which also engaged the local community of Notodden.

The trip provided a valuable experience for the university lecturers, expanded the network of professional contacts for future academic mobility and the creation of innovative educational content, and opened new opportunities for professional development and international cooperation. This will contribute to the further implementation of European educational practices into the activities of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies CNU EcoSystem, particularly regarding the development of new professional development programs for pedagogical and academic staff.
