On June 2, the final online meeting of the first international COIL project, “Bio Bridge: Sustainability and AI Across Borders – Ukraine & Argentina”, was held at the Center of Innovative Educational Technologies “CNU-EcoSystem”.
The project coordinator from Ukraine was Viktoriia Hniezdilova, Acting Head of the Department of Biology and Ecology, PhD in Biology, Associate Professor. This project became the first virtual international exchange experience for ten students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The eight-week project brought together students from Ukraine and Argentina to explore current issues related to sustainable development and the application of artificial intelligence in education and agriculture. Working in international teams, students created videos and discussed the negative impacts of the war in Ukraine on agricultural production, education, public health, and the overall environmental situation.
During the final meeting, participants shared their impressions of the collaborative work and expressed their gratitude to the organizers, instructors, and fellow students for their support, cooperation, and mutual assistance throughout the project. The students noted that participation in international teams helped them overcome language barriers, step outside their comfort zones, enhance their communication skills, and gain new knowledge as well as valuable intercultural experience.
A special highlight of the event was the participation of Professor Nestor Urretavizcaya, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the National University of Lomas de Zamora (Argentina). He congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the project and emphasized the importance of international academic cooperation in preparing the next generation of professionals.
We sincerely thank all students for their active participation, openness to new ideas, and willingness to engage in international collaboration. We are confident that this project has become the beginning of new professional connections, lasting friendships, and future joint initiatives between Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University (Ukraine) and the National University of Lomas de Zamora (Argentina).
